Dream Laos

Dream Laos

Vang Vieng

This area, located in the middle of the country on the Nam Song River, was once the home to bohemian backpackers, but has become a quiet and serene center for exploring the dozens of local caves and relaxing in swimming holes. If you are looking for activity, you can do kayaking tours, zip-lining adventures, and full-day hikes around the mountains.  Alternatively, relax in small, boutique hotels and enjoy the scenery.

Kouang Si Waterfalls

Head outside of Luang Prabang to swim in the breathtaking cascades of water that make the Kuang Si Falls one of Laos' most popular attractions.  You can seek  the serene beauty of this three-tiered falls nestled in the Laos jungle near the Tat Kuang Si Bear Rescue Centre.

Weavers

Cotton and silk, from the rural cultivation of cotton and mulberry trees, is used to produce thread that is dyed with natural colors.  Laotian textiles emerged from cultural contact between different ethnic groups, resulting in some of the most intricate and stunning textiles to come from a simple floor loom.  For instance the Katu are expert weavers known for their bright colors. The many ethnic groups in Laos provide a vast variety of patterns, color schemes and shapes.  Visits to various weavers can be arranged as part of an introduction to the textiles of Laos.
