Morning meditation at Phnom Krom Pagoda

Depart at night to climb to the Pagoda to meet the Abbot and an elder monk and begin going through the procedures for the morning ceremony. Just before dawn, the monks begin a purification ritual that includes chanting, prayers, a sermon (which your host will translate), and a final blessing with holy water by the Abbot. The ceremony concludes just as the sun has rise.

Remote Temple Discovery

Not only is the entire Angkor complex a UNESCO World Heritage site, but with origins dating back to 900 AD, its gopuras and corbel arches epitomize the height of Khmer architecture. When the Angkor complex was uncovered from jungle growth in 1860, it soon became an exotic destination for adventure seekers of the Victorian Age.

The sleepy town whose location near Angkor Wat makes it a must-stop for travelers to Cambodia.

Phnom Penh

Phnom Penh, situated at the confluence of the Mekong and Tonle Sap Rivers, is Cambodia’s capital and a genuine boomtown. But it still manages to impart an old-world charm through its unusual blend of Khmer, Art Deco and French Colonial architecture. The style of the city is a fusion of East, West, old and new, and is elegant yet comfortable, classic yet casual.

Coastal Area

Cambodia’s beautiful coastline lies on the Gulf of Thailand. There are some really neat places to visit, so you might enjoy taking a southbound ride from Phnom Penh to reach Sihanoukville, where a fastboat can transfer you to an island from the jetty. Enjoy being adventurous or completely relaxing.
